At STAR Equstrians we have 5 horses that we own and 2 horses that we lease from the Goril Farm for our lessons. We do everything we can to keep our horses in top health and well cared for. We have contracted with the Goril Farm to board our horses and to provide the majority of the daily maintenance for these magnificent creatures who give so much to our students, our staff and our volunteers.
Currently STAR Equestrians incurrs all the cost of maintaining these horses while still trying to provide quality programming at a reduced cost to our clients. As a non-profit organization, we are dedicated to providing this low cost programming to anyone in need. In order to continue, we rely on volunteers to provide the manpower and we rely on donors for the majority of our financial income.
Here's how you can help. STAR Equestrians has obligated to pay $250 per month per horse for board and full service care at the Goril Farm. This monthly fee includes all feed and stall maintenance. In addition to this cost, we also have regular visits from a farrier (hoof care specialist), a large animal veterinarian and a dentist who specializes in the care of horse teeth. Without proper care of the hooves the animals are unable to carry out their job of carrying riders and may injure themselves while simply moving around the farm and pastures. Without proper dental care, a horse may not be able to chew his main food, hay, properly leading to poor nutrition, orworse yet, other digestive disorders that could threaten his or her life.
STAR Equestrians is implementing a program to allow you to donate directly to the care of our horses.
How it works.
You get to choose a horse or horses you wish to sponsor for any amount. No amount is too small or too large. You can choose to sponsor a horse on a monthy basis or simply send a one time donation to the horse of your choice. When you send your sponsorship money, you can designate it to go to a specific horse and the funds will be set aside specifically for the care of that animai and will never be used for any other expenses. As a 501c3 non-profit, all donations are fully deductible in accordance with the laws and IRS rules governing such donations.
When you sponsor a horse, your name will be listed on our website as a sponsor for that horse. If you pledge a monthly commitment of $25 or more, your name will also be added to a plaque in the barn by the horse's stall indicating that you or your company is a monthly sponsor for the animal of your choice.
Pledges and payments may be sent by check made out to STAR Equestrians with the name of the horse in the memo line. You can also make pledges and payments via PayPAL designating the horse for which your donation is intended.
