Therapeutic Horseback Riding is our initial program that was started in June of 1998. The program continues to serve children and adults living with many different disorders. Lessons are group or individual depending on needs and goals of the participants. This program teaches riding skills and allows for individual progress documented by lesson plans. Goals for each individual are established in cooperation with a team approach: (participant, instructor, family, additional therapist). We are a NARHA member center, NARHA Horses for Heroes program and have a NARHA certified riding instructor.
Therapeutic Horsemanship is a program that allows individuals that are not candidates for mounted activities to still experience horses by: learning to groom, tack/equipment and horse care all from the ground.
Therapeutic Gardening is a pilot program in its second season. The program invites participants to assist in planting, care and harvesting vegetable crops from raised beds. The program is assisted by community master gardeners. Participants gain knowledge of organic gardening and the importance of nutrition.
